Short vs standard implants associated with sinus floor elevation: a randomized controlled trial

نویسندگان

چکیده

Objective: the present equivalence two-arm parallel randomized controlled trial aimed to compare survival and marginal bone loss (MBL) of short implants (≤6 mm) standard (≥8.5 associated with sinus floor elevation (SFE). Methods: adult patients partial edentulism occlusal stability in area intermediate height were selected this double-blind (patient outcome assessment). Patients randomly allocated into two groups: length SFE (control) or (test). Clinical radiographic assessments made at time implant placement, 6 months, annually thereafter up 2 years after loading. The inter-examiner agreement was analyzed using intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). One-way ANOVA, Kaplan-Meier, Log-rank tests used (primary outcome) MBL (secondary (P<0.05). Results: eight six placed (mean age 47 ±12.5 years). rates 87.5% for (one 5 mm failed 7 months) 100% no statistically significant difference between groups (P=0.4). mean 1 year 0.30 ±0.62 0.21 ±0.36 (P=0.123). set 0.831. Conclusion: similar clinical service. Trial registration: Registered on 27-03-2018 ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03479333). Clinical evaluation of short 6-mm implants alone, short 8-mm implants combined with osteotome sinus floor elevation and standard 10-mm implants combined with osteotome sinus floor elevation in posterior maxillae: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial

BACKGROUND Nowadays, short dental implants are being increasingly applied in extremely resorbed posterior regions. The recent studies have indicated that short implants present a similar success rate to conventional implants. It is assumed that short implants can avoid additional surgical morbidity and are less technically demanding. However, high-quality evidence (≥ Ib: evidence from at least ...

Outcome of short implants as an alternative to sinus lift surgery and standard-length implants for rehabilitation of atrophic posterior maxilla: A clinical trial

Background and Aims: The aim of this study was to assess the outcome of short implants (<8 mm length) as an alternative to sinus lift surgery and placement of standard-length implants (10-12 mm length) for rehabilitation of atrophic posterior maxilla. Materials and Methods: In this prospective clinical trial, 26 patients with 6-7 mm of residual alveolar bone height in their atrophic posterior ...

Treatment strategies in moderate atrophic posterior maxilla: short dental implants or sinus floor elevation?

The aim of present study is to evaluate the implant stability, operative time and patient satisfaction of short dental implants (6mm) alone, short dental implants (8mm) combined with OSFE and standard dental implants (10mm) combined with OSFE for treating atrophic posterior maxilla of partially edentulous. 33 patients with 33 implants (Group 1: 9, Group 2: 12, Group 3: 12) were included in the ...
